Custom foam questions
What do you need to design a custom foam insert?
The dimensions of each item that goes in the case, plus a photo or a technical drawing if you have one. If you have not chosen a case yet, the Case Finder will suggest one from your equipment size.
Which foam materials are available?
Robusto works with EPE, XLPE and PU foam. The right material depends on the weight and fragility of your equipment, and availability is confirmed with your quotation.
What is the difference between custom foam and pick and pluck foam?
Pick and pluck foam is pre-scored into small cubes that you remove by hand to make a cavity. Custom foam is cut to the exact outline of your equipment, which gives a closer fit and a cleaner layout for kits with several items.
How much foam surrounds the equipment?
The Case Finder allows 25 mm of foam on every side when it recommends a case. Tell us if your equipment needs a different layout and we will review it.
